This is the most time-intensive technique we do. It originated long ago in Venice, Italy. There’s no paint involved: trowels are used to apply special plaster that contains marble dust. Usually four applications are required. The finish can be rough or smooth; when smooth, it gives you a great sense of depth, and a feel of marble or glass. Venetian plaster is waterproof and extremely durable. It’s especially popular in dining rooms (for a very formal look) and bathrooms.
